Batter Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking pan.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- In another bowl, mix pumpkin puree, sour cream, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Fold the wet mixture into the dry ingredients until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25-28 minutes.
- Allow the bars to cool completely in the pan on a wire rack for about 30-40 minutes.
Frosting Preparation
- Melt unsalted butter in a saucepan until golden brown, about 5-7 minutes.
- Remove from heat and mix in powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Once the bars are cool, spread the frosting generously over the top.
