For the Fish
  • 800 grams Fish Fillets Any firm white fish like cod or tilapia.
For the Rice

  • 4 cups Boiling Water For cooking the rice.
  • 1 teaspoon Salt for Rice Ensures flavorful rice.
  • 1 teaspoon Ground Turmeric Adds color and flavor.

Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. In a medium saucepan, combine 2 cups of basmati rice, 4 cups of boiling water, 1 teaspoon of salt, and 1 teaspoon of ground turmeric. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to medium-low and cover. Simmer for 8-10 minutes until tender, then turn off heat and keep covered for 5 minutes.
  2. Preheat your oven to 200°C (390°F). Prepare a baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper.
  3. In a mixing bowl, blend 3 tablespoons of olive oil, the juice of half a lemon, 3 minced garlic cloves, 1 tablespoon of garam masala, 1 teaspoon of curry powder, 1 teaspoon of salt, and freshly ground black pepper. Stir until well combined.
  4. Pat the fish fillets dry with paper towels. Place them skin-side down on the prepared baking sheet. Coat generously with the marinade.
  5. Bake the marinated fish in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until flaky and opaque.
  6. Remove the fish from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes before serving with turmeric rice.
