Step-by-Step Instructions

  3. In a separate bowl, mash ripe bananas and mix with applesauce, peanut butter, oil, eggs, and vanilla.
  4. Gently fold wet ingredients into the dry until just combined, then stir in chocolate chips.
  5. Divide batter between loaf pans, filling halfway, and add extra chocolate chips on top if desired.
  6. Bake for 45-50 minutes, checking at 30 minutes and covering with foil if needed.
  7. Insert a toothpick in the center to check for doneness; it should come out clean.
  8. Cool loaves in pans for 15-20 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
