- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare a 12-cup muffin tin by greasing or lining it.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until combined.
- In a separate medium bowl, combine the buttermilk, egg, and melted butter, whisking until smooth.
- Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined, avoiding overmixing.
- Fold in the crumbled bacon and half of the maple syrup into the batter carefully.
