- In another bowl, mix together milk, egg yolks, melted butter, lemon juice, and zest until smooth.
- Beat egg whites with the remaining sugar until soft peaks form.
- Gently fold beaten egg whites into the batter.
- Pour the batter into the prepared dish and bake for 40–45 minutes until golden brown.
- Cool for at least 15 minutes before dusting with powdered sugar and serving.
