Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9 x 13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together 2 cups of all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon of baking powder, and ½ teaspoon of salt.
  3. In a large bowl, mash 3-4 very ripe bananas until smooth, then beat in ½ cup of room temperature butter.
  4. Add 1 cup of granulated sugar, 2 eggs, and 2 teaspoons of pure vanilla extract to the banana mixture and mix until combined.
  5. Gradually stir in the dry ingredient mixture and ½ cup of milk alternately until just combined.
  6. Combine ½ cup of cold, cubed butter with 1 cup of light brown sugar, 1 cup of flour, and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon until crumbly.
  7. Pour half of the cake batter into the prepared baking dish and sprinkle half of the crumb mixture over it.
  8. Layer with the remaining batter and crumb topping, then bake for 45-55 minutes.
