Step-by-Step Instructions for Savory Breakfast Rolls
  1. In a medium bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Allow it to sit for about 5 minutes until foamy. Then, add flour, salt, and melted butter. Mix until a smooth dough forms. Knead for about 5–7 minutes, then let it rise in a warm spot, covered, for 1 hour until doubled in size.
  2. While the dough rises, heat a skillet over medium heat and scramble beaten eggs. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Once cooked, mix in cooked sausage or bacon, green onions, and shredded cheese. Stir until the cheese melts, then set aside to cool slightly.
  3. Once the dough has risen, preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). On a floured surface, roll the dough into a large rectangle, about ¼-inch thick. Cut into 8–10 equal squares. Place a spoonful of filling onto each square and fold the edges over to seal securely.
  4. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and place the rolls seam side down. Brush the tops with melted butter. Bake for 18–22 minutes, or until puffed and golden brown.
  5. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly on a wire rack. Enjoy warm, or cool completely before storing in the freezer.
