  • 2 cups Shredded Cheddar Cheese or mozzarella as an alternative
  • 1/2 cup Grated Parmesan Cheese optional
  • 1 tablespoon Dried Italian Seasoning fresh herbs can be used
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika or cayenne for a spicier kick
  • to taste Salt and Pepper for seasoning
  • 1 cup Beef Broth or Water or vegetable broth for vegetarian
  • 1/2 cup Milk optional for creaminess
  • 1/4 cup Fresh Parsley optional for garnish

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with olive oil or cooking spray.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add ground beef, breaking it apart. Cook for 5-7 minutes until browned, draining excess fat.
  3. Add chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook for another 3-4 minutes until softened.
  4. Transfer beef mixture into the greased baking dish, spreading it evenly. Layer thinly sliced potatoes on top. Season with salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, and paprika.
  5. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the potatoes. Pour beef broth around the edges. Drizzle with milk if desired.
  6. Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and place it in the oven. Bake for 30 minutes.
  7. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until cheese is bubbling and potatoes are fork-tender.
  8. Remove from oven and let cool slightly. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve hot.
