Step-by-Step Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with olive oil or cooking spray.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add ground beef, breaking it apart. Cook for 5-7 minutes until browned, draining excess fat.
- Add chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook for another 3-4 minutes until softened.
- Transfer beef mixture into the greased baking dish, spreading it evenly. Layer thinly sliced potatoes on top. Season with salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, and paprika.
- Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the potatoes. Pour beef broth around the edges. Drizzle with milk if desired.
- Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and place it in the oven. Bake for 30 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until cheese is bubbling and potatoes are fork-tender.
- Remove from oven and let cool slightly. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve hot.
