- Start by rinsing fresh spinach under cold water, then remove any tough stems. Set spinach aside in a large bowl.
- In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Add prepared spinach to the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes, stirring frequently, until wilted.
- In a mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese and heavy cream, whisking until smooth. Pour over spinach and stir well.
- Add salt, black pepper, and nutmeg while stirring. Simmer on low heat for about 2-3 minutes until the cream thickens.
- Remove from heat, garnish with Parmesan cheese or fresh herbs, and serve warm.
