Step‑by‑Step Instructions for Crispy Honey-Garlic Tofu
  1. Begin by cutting the extra firm tofu into bite-sized cubes, ensuring they’re all roughly the same size for even cooking. If using, gently press the tofu with a clean towel or paper towels to absorb excess moisture for about 15 minutes.
  2. In a mixing bowl, add the cubed tofu and sprinkle a generous amount of cornstarch along with a pinch of salt. Toss the tofu carefully to ensure every piece is evenly coated.
  3. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add a drizzle of olive oil or spray with cooking spray. Once hot, carefully add the coated tofu cubes in a single layer. Sauté for about 10–12 minutes, turning occasionally until golden brown and crispy.
  4. In a small saucepan, combine the honey, soy sauce, and minced garlic. Heat over medium-low heat, stirring occasionally, until the mixture is slightly thickened, about 4-5 minutes.
  5. Once the tofu is ready and golden, transfer it to a large bowl. Pour the warm honey-garlic sauce over the crispy tofu and gently toss to coat all the pieces evenly.
  6. Transfer your Crispy Honey-Garlic Tofu to a serving plate and garnish with sesame seeds or chopped green onions if desired. Pair with steamed rice or quinoa.
