  • 8 oz Whipped Cream Cheese or regular cream cheese
  • 3 large Eggs beaten
  • 1.5 cups Skim Milk or whole milk
  • 1 tsp Cinnamon or nutmeg as alternative
  • 0.5 tsp Vanilla Extract pure recommended
  • 4 tbsp Butter for frying
For the Blackberry Compote
  • 12 oz Blackberries or strawberries/blueberries
  • 1 tbsp Sugar
  • 2 tbsp Lemon Juice
  • 0.5 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 0.25 cups Water
  • 1 tbsp Cornstarch

Method
 

Compote Preparation
  1. In a medium sauce pot over medium heat, combine blackberries, lemon juice, sugar, vanilla extract, and water. Bring to a gentle boil, stirring occasionally. Add cornstarch, reduce heat, and simmer for 5–7 minutes until thickened.
French Toast Mixture Preparation
  1. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together eggs, skim milk, cinnamon, and vanilla extract until well combined. Set aside.
Assembly
  1. Spread whipped cream cheese on one side of each bread slice. Optionally add blackberry compote on top before sandwiching.
Cooking
  1. Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat. Dip each stuffed sandwich in the egg mixture, then cook for 2–3 minutes per side until golden brown.
Serving
  1. Transfer cooked sandwiches to a plate, drizzle with warm blackberry compote, and sprinkle with powdered sugar. Serve hot.
