Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Cook Noodles: Begin by boiling a large pot of salted water. Once boiling, add lasagna noodles and cook until al dente, about 8–10 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  2. Prepare Meat Sauce: In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add ground beef, cook until browned, then drain excess fat. Stir in marinara sauce, diced tomatoes, and Italian seasoning. Simmer for 10 minutes, seasoning with salt and pepper.
  3. Mix Ricotta Mixture: In a bowl, combine ricotta cheese, egg, and grated Parmesan cheese. Stir until smooth.
  4. Assemble Lasagna: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). In a baking dish, layer meat sauce, noodles, ricotta mixture, and mozzarella. Repeat layers, ending with noodles and remaining meat sauce topped with mozzarella and Parmesan.
  5. Bake: Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 20 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden.
  6. Rest and Serve: Let lasagna rest for 10 minutes before slicing. Serve garnished with fresh herbs.
